BANKNOTE LEVITATION

You borrow a banknote from any spectator and crumple it into a ball. You hold it in your outstretched hand and wait for the magic to happen.

After a few seconds the banknote begins to twitch and jump. Slowly, it rises up into the air, levitating a full 12 inches above your hand.

You then take your hand away and the banknote continues to levitate right in front of everyone. You wave your hands above and below it, showing there is no ties or hookups.

The banknote then gradually falls back into your hand. You unfold it and hand it back to the dumbfounded spectator.

EXPLANATION

The secret behind the banknote levitation effect is Invisible Thread, which you can buy here very cheaply.

The thread is attached to behind your ear and the other end is attached to an object in front of you, such as a deck of cards, which you place on a table.

You borrow a banknote from a spectator and hold it up in front of you until you feel it touch the invisible thread. You then fold it around the thread and crumple it up.

You hold the banknote in the palm of your hand and move your head backwards slightly. The note levitates into the air. You can wave your hands above and below it without touching the thread.
